Juba Restaurant & Cafe: Reviews & Ratings
My son had gotten carry out from here once so I tried it for lunch with a friend. You order at the counter and they bring your food out. On the cashier’s recommendation, we got the the first two items on the menu, Goat meat (Hilib Ari) and lamb shank. Both were very tasty and large portions - we could have split one entree. Service was fast and they checked in with us several times. It was Friday lunch and they warned us when we ordered that they would be closing to attend prayers. But they let us finish and pack our leftovers without bothering us. The setting is bright and orderly but nothing fancy. Location is on Tukwila International Boulevard not far from the light rail station so it’s an easy detour if you are headed to the airport or want to take an outing on the light rail. Definitely worth a visit! I need to explore the other entrees next time.
Okay, so I just had lunch at that place in WA 98168 – it’s really become a habit! I always get the family-sized rice, chicken and goat dish – it’s massive and delicious. The staff were super friendly and patient, which was great because I still can't remember the name of the dish! It was busy, but we didn't have to wait too long. I noticed the portions seem a little smaller than I remembered, and the price is a bit high for the amount you get. Maybe a little more rice would be amazing. Still, the food is really good and I’ll definitely be back!
I don’t even know where to begin—this place is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the aroma alone told me I was in for something special. Every bite of the food was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and honestly? Finger-licking good! The dishes were not only delicious but beautifully presented. You can tell the chefs put real heart into their cooking. It felt like a mix of comfort food and fine dining all in one. I caught myself licking my fingers more than once—yes, it was that good! The service was just as amazing—warm, attentive, and welcoming. The staff made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves flavorful, satisfying food that leaves you craving more. I’ll definitely be coming back!
The Rice, Chicken and Goat family-size dish was very delicious and big enough. The spice tea was great with milk even without sugar for me, and with little sugar for my niece. The service was pretty good at the counter. They listened with patience as we tried to place the order when we didn't know what the dish was called. It's my go-to dish anytime I visit but I still didn't know what it's called at the time and still don't. The service from when we first got our tea, to when we got our plate, and even when we asked for smaller plates, extra spice and lemons was also great. Matter of fact, I've visited about 4 times before today since 2023 and, each time, the service and food were great.
Just tried this place on Tukwila Blvd and wow, I’m hooked! The Ethiopian food was incredible – seriously flavorful with huge portions. I got the rice, chicken & goat dish and it was easily enough for a family. The staff were so patient explaining everything, even though I had no clue what I was ordering! They were really attentive, bringing extra spice and lemons no problem. It was busy, but moved quickly. Parking was a little tricky, maybe go earlier. Definitely worth a visit – I’ll be back to try more dishes soon!
One of our favorite spots when we're in the area!! Large portions and authentic flavors.
This is a neighborhood cafe that many would probably pass by without a second look, but I really recommend it as their food is served in good portions and taste great and the staff is very friendly. Only downside that would be seen by some is the atmosphere is not that of the same old restaurant chain many have grown accustomed to. It’s a neighborhood restaurant where you’ll find a gem of a meal and I recommend the lamb shank.
This was my first experience with Ethiopian cuisine and it was very nice. We had the Ethiopian injera with goat and a chicken dish. Both were very flavorful. The staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere was chill
